GitHub models integration into our workflows #6547

Description

This one is still relevant, so opening a new issue to avoid any confusion. Copying @nicolas-raoul's suggestion directly:

I am all for implementing that! If it costs us no money, haha.

I think the following actions would be helpful for us:

  • Auto-assign issue to anyone who asks, unless they already have any issue assigned with no pull request pending action from us.
  • Greet newcomers, explain in particular the 5 bugfixes rule and link to the Welcome document.
  • When someone posts a bug, suggest probable duplicate if there is one.
  • When someone sends a pull request containing unrelated changes, point to our rule about this (by the way, do we have one already?).

Honestly the first two do not really need AI. 🤔

The pull request to implement this can probably be written by a newcomer.
