Specify path for browserslist.rc

Is there any way to say to postcss-preset-env where it should look for the .browserslistrc file? I'm running a monorepo setup and I have my .browserslistrc file sitting in the monorepo root, where other packages also access it from.
i'm basically looking for this equivalent option from swc: https://swc.rs/docs/configuration/supported-browsers#path

Hi @thomasmattheussen,

There is no such option.

But you can use the browsers option to achieve a similar result.
This gives you the option to call browserslist yourself in JavaScript and pass the result.

Likewise browserslist itself has the BROWSERSLIST_CONFIG override option: https://github.com/browserslist/browserslist?tab=readme-ov-file#browserslistrc

Maybe we should expose the path setting, or even allow an object config the we just pass through?

Ah yes, I already solved it in the meantime similarly to your first advice. Maybe the BROWSERSLIST_CONFIG is a cleaner option for my usecase though.

For posterity, another solution I thought of would be to use the extends option https://github.com/browserslist/browserslist?tab=readme-ov-file#shareable-configs
Gives you an extra .browserslistrc file, but at least it's extended from a single source of truth then.
