You can't copy/paste code from jQuery and change the copyright to yourself. You need to restore the original copyright info or remove this.

You are absolutely right @dmethvin. Thanks for pointing this out. I copied an old plugin folder as a template and forgot to remove the LICENSE.md file

You need to include the jQuery license file with this project (https://github.com/jquery/jquery/blob/master/MIT-LICENSE.txt) - it's still a violation to distribute with no license.

Hmm. Thanks for pointing that out @aaronm67. @dmethvin could you please advise what do I need to do to make sure I do not have any other license issues. It looks like my options are:

1. Upload 2 license files. One called MIT-LICENSE.txt and another one called JQUERY-MIT-LICENSE.txt and state that this code and the jQuery code are both licensed under the MIT license
2. Upload only one MIT-LICENSE and add a copyright of jQuery and myself and specify the MIT LICENSE works for both codes.
3. ...and I am out of ideas 😕

Copy the "license-mit.txt" file from jquery into your project, and ensure
the first line stays the same. You often see something like

Copyright (c) 2013 jQuery Foundation, http://jquery.org/
Modifications Copyright (c) 2013 (your name)
(rest of MIT license)

Option 1 will also work, it's just less common - the license requires you to distribute the original license with copyright intact, how you do that is up to you.
