External Panels not working on Chrome on Android

If I test the demo page for external panel http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.0/panel-external/ right after testing the panel page http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.0/panel/ on my Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.2) with Chrome 32.0.1700.99
Then no panel is opening.

I select the "Panel" voice from "Panel widget", tap on a random button to open a panel then close it, select the "External panel" voice and tapping on every button isn't working (the button change color but no panel).

If I reload the "External Panel" page then it's working as intended

Thanks for reporting the issue. I just tested on Nexus 5 Android 4.4.2 Chrome 30.0.1599.105 and can't reproduce it. It could be a bug in the beta version of Chrome that you tested on. Can you also reproduce the issue on other devices/platforms/browsers?

It's not the beta http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.it/2014/01/chrome-for-android-update.html
Actually I haven't any other device to test it.
As soon as I can test it I add a comment here

Sorry, I misread the Chrome release blog and the Chrome app didn't auto-update on my Nexus 5.

I think I found the problem. Did you use the link in this paragraph?

"Panels outside pages
If you want to use the same panel on multiple pages you can place the markup outside the page. See external panels"

Actually I don't use this link (but it's not working too) but I tap on "External panels" in the "Panel widget" menu

I tested with exactly the same device, Android version, and Chrome version but can't reproduce it when I follow that link. Here are my steps:

1. Open demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.0/
2. Open nav menu (left panel)
3. Expand "Panel widget"
4. Click "Panel"
5. On Panel page open left reveal panel with top middle "Reveal" button and close the panel
6. Repeat step 2 and 3
7. Click "External panels"
8. On External Panel page open left reveal panel with top middle "Reveal" button

On the "Panel" page try to tap on the top left "Overlay" button without changing all the other steps

Ok, reproduced. Thanks.

My first thought is that this has to do with our global nav menu, which also uses a left overlay panel. We added some code to avoid conflicts on the panel demo page (79a0526). Have to do some more debugging.

I can reproduce the issue with the 1.4.0 demos but not with latest code on branch master: http://view.jquerymobile.com/master/demos/. Looks like it has been fixed already. Can you confirm?

Note: The fix for that link on the page itself didn't land yet, so I am only talking about when you use the navmenu in the panel.
