multiple value - select list - using data-native-menu: false

Using the above criteria,

a) multiple value select widget
b) using data-native-menu: false

on iPhone 5s, and SE, (screen px < 320px) the select list renders, however upon selecting new options, and closing the rendered select menu, the page fails.

I am using phonegap, if that matters. jquery.mobile.1.4.5.min.js

I think this needs to be looked into.

This happens when the list of the select menu is larger than the screen height.
In this scenario the default handling of jq mobile is to open the select menu as a dialog and this is essentially a new page.
So if you have placed your select menu initialization and population code inside pagebeforeshow,
when you select your value in the dialog, then pagebeforeshow is triggered again, re initializing your select menu, thus discarding your actual selection.
Place your select menu initialization code in pagecreate event and you will solve your problem.
I am also trying to prevent jq mobile opening the select menu as a dialog because I dont want my initial page to be pushed out, but currently it seems you have to modify jq mobile code which is always risky.
