Not sure. @mikesherov put it in the list of public methods in #242. I'd be fine with getting rid of the method and moving the logic to the one file that uses it. |

Seems kinda skimpy, but I'm not sure how to provide generic examples for this. There's only a single use of this inside jQuery UI.
