Design/author learn home page

The home page has been placeholder content - it needs to be laid out with some information about the site's mission, links to other resources inside and outside of the jquery.com network of sites, information about recently added and updated articles, and some graphic appeal.

@ajpiano is someone working on this? Seems like a big blocker to launching the site.

Might help to create and set a milestone for everything that needs to get done for a first launch?

I need a hand with a basic layout for the home page from @natecroft @jonlongnecker - Can you guys give a hand with this in the coming days? The only mockup I've seen for the learn site is for an individual article page.

We're targeting the 21st for the first launch.

@ajpiano Noticed that we haven't answered re: the site mission / text content for the home page yet. Feel free to ping me if you need any help with that. You might need to wait until we get a layout so we have an idea of required length etc.

Yes, my plan is to integrate into the layout once I have a vague picture of how it's going to be.

@addyosmani can you just put together a text and put that into the repo as index.md? A placeholder with some text is much better than nothing at all.

This can obviously continue to be improved but we have something that is good to go for the beta release.
