I needed to use the "auto" option where I could use the stopInputAtMaximum, but maxlength's native behavior makes it impossible. So added another option similar to "auto" where we can use a custom attribute for the length. You can take a look at my fiddle to see it better: http://jsfiddle.net/t3mujin/LazjLxxr/
