Error SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character

After calling upload/new with POST data , I get text/html as response, instead of json
This happens only on production.
Locally its working fine.

Any Idea why ?

Hi Prathvi,

I am facing the similar issue in the production site, not sure whats the cause of this. Were you able to get around this issue?

I changed the code in views.py
Basically the function was not getting called on production.
def getbucketserver(request,buc_id, _args, *_kwargs):
if request.method == 'GET' and request.session.session_key is not None and request.session['logged_in'] is not False:
return render_to_response('fileupload/picture_form.html',{},context_instance=RequestContext(request))
else:
return HttpResponseRedirect('/login')

def handle_uploaded_file(f,file_path):
file_name = f.name.replace(" ", "_")
with open(file_path+file_name, 'wb+') as destination:
for chunk in f.chunks():
destination.write(chunk)

def newbucketobject(request,buc_id,args,*kwargs):
if request.session['logged_in'] is not False and request.method == 'POST':

    data = []
    return HttpResponse(simplejson.dumps(data),content_type="application/json", mimetype='application/json')
else:
    return HttpResponse(status=204)

def deletebucketobject(request,buc_id, _args, *_kwargs):
if request.is_ajax():
return HttpResponse(simplejson.dumps({}), content_type="application/json", mimetype='application/json')
else:
return HttpResponse(status=204)

I have deleted implementations , Hope you got the idea

Thanks Parthvi, for replying in quickly. I think you are right the views
were not getting called and once I have moved from class based view to
function based view, i can see atleast the function getting called.

Can you tell me where did you called the handleuploaded_file?

its a private helper function called in
newbucketobject(request,buc_id,args,*kwargs):

to save the file object
