I found this menu-dropdown plugin while esarching for a plugin which acts like a SELECT box. I couldn't find one, so I updated this to add such functionality.
It's like dropdown-menu, only you add dropdown-select instead. Then, the trigger element will assume the text of the element selected in the dropdown - which is marked by dropdown-selected class.

Cool feature, but I think it goes outside the scope of the plugin.

Just a note—when I was playing with it, I noticed that the text would change for all elements that triggered the same dropdown. It also failed to update the value (instead of the text) of an input element (e.g. a button).

Thank you for relating to the subject. I'll notice the issues you've
mentioned.

Maybe I'll turn it in to a seperate plugin, there are many possibilities.
