Sources are ignored in gitignored directory even when they are explicity set using hard path

When you have html files inside git ignored directory and path in @source is hard cli don't see html files
(would be nice to have verbose mode so it would be easier to see which html files are read)

Seems like the rule .gitignore is too broad. We specify @source of the html directory, but then the * in the .gitignore matches the inner login.html file, making the @source rule redundant.

For what it's worth you could work around this by:

• Setting @source to the file:

  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/login.html";
  /* Or */
  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/*";
  /* Or */
  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/*.html";
  /* Etc. */

  This ensures the deep * is overridden properly by the @source rule.
• Edit the .gitignore rule to:

  /*
  

  This stops the deep matching of the lone * rule by anchoring the ignore to only top-level elements inside the build directory.
• Moving the .gitignore up and setting it to:

  /build
  

  This ignores the build directory properly but again, without the deep match.

.gitignore is created by meson when setting up given build dir so i cannot edit it

That's unfortunate. You could still:

• Set @source to the file:

  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/login.html";
  /* Or */
  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/*";
  /* Or */
  @source "/home/user/path/to/build/html/*.html";
  /* Etc. */

  This ensures the deep * is overridden properly by the @source rule.
• Set @source to the source file instead of the build artifact:

  @source "../../";
  /* Or */
  @source "../../*.html";

  Or

  @import "tailwindcss" source("../../");

  Etc.

• Set @source to the source file instead of the build artifact: - work, but I'm afraid my custom templating format might break something and it would annoying to debug or i can later strip some part of html where tailwindcss wouldn't know about it and keep rules for it but they will be not needed

Seems to have worked for me at least. Running

$ DEBUG=* ./tailwindcss-linux-x64 -i build/css/tailwind.css -o build/css/style.css

Oh it only works with specifinig directly every file...

Still it would be nice if source(none) or something similar would mean that i'm as programmer in care of what is treated as a source and .gitignore doesn't do anything for discovering
