Rails 4 work?

Does this gem work in Rails 4 ? I made everything like in docs and nothing happend. Precompiled application_split2.css is exackly that same as application.css

I add this to gem file gem 'css_splitter', git: 'git://github.com/zweilove/css_splitter' and it start working. Include gem 'css_splitter' instal 0.2.0 version and this 0.4.0.

@jhilden I am unfortunately still experiencing the same issue as @efectiva, even when explicitly pulling the latest version of master.. application_split2 is exactly the same as application.css. Any tips you have are appreciated.

Yes it work for me. estefaniaa, be sure that You don't write something like this in _split2.css

but

*= require 'application'
*/

Quotation marks is important and little misleading because we don't need to use it in application css for require.

@jhilden I've basically narrowed it down to the ?body=1 param that Sprockets appends to the CSS files. Removing it and viewing it in my browser pulls up the correctly compiled split file (where it would otherwise be blank).

Here's my setup:

• Rails 4.0.3
• compiled application.css can be found here:

• application.scss looks generally like the following

My config/application.rb:
config.assets.precompile += %w( ie.css application_split2.css)

And of course html only if IE lte 9:

<%= stylesheet_link_tag "application_split2" %>

@estefaniaa not sure what this ?body parameter is all about. Can you run rake assets:precompile and check what the precompiled assets in public/assets/ looks like? (don't forget to run rake assets:clean afterwards to clean up the precompiled assets)

The body parameter is used by Sprockets to indicate that the version of the file to retrieve is the non-precompiled version for debugging. In this mode, the expected behavior is that the file will not be split. You will see this behavior if you're running in the Rails development environment. Refer to this link for more information on debug mode and how to turn it off.

Running rake compiles the original and split files correctly:

However, running the app in development & production are a different story.. Locally, I turned off debug mode for the stylesheets as per @Umofomia's advice and the files are identical. In production, same thing (hashes for both files are identical).

Are You sure that You add this:

config.assets.precompile += %w(application_split2.css)

to production.rb ?

I don't know what to say. Right now I'm develop second application with this gem and it works for me. Did You find solution?

Guys, the same issue for me.
Simple setup with Rails 4, but application.css and application_split2.css after precompile are identical.
