    #include usage?

    Why would this not work for me:

    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="700">
    <tr>
    <td>
    <!-- ----------Begin Top Navigation Include File---------- -->
    <!--#include file="topnav.ht ml"-->
    <!-- ----------End Top Navigation Include File---------- -->
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    Contents of topnav.html:
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
    <tr>
    <td colspan="6"><im g src="images/tophead.gif" width="700"
    height="163" border="0" usemap="#Imagem ap1">
    <map name="Imagemap1 ">
    <area shape="rect" coords="580,15, 696,82"
    href="http://linkedsite.com" >
    <area shape="rect" coords="271,69, 452,83" href="index.htm l"
    alt="Home" title="Home">
    <area shape="poly"
    coords="238,65, 122,6,103,21,77 ,106,70,142,154 ,138,187,136" href="index.htm l"
    alt="Home" title="Home">
    </map>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    Now this is a really pointless table isn't it?

    Do you realise that the words Begin Top Navigation Include File are
    not actually commented out?
    You open and close three sets of comments before those words and
    another three sets after them. Never try to include multiple strings
    of - inside comments.

    Are SSI enabled on your server?
    Do you have to call your file .shtml for your server to parse SSI?

      I forgot about the '--' thing in HTML Comments...DUH! !!

      Don't know about the SSI stuff. Would that be required
      to get this to work?

        Yes. <!--#include file="..." --> is a Server Side Include. If SSI
        isn't enabled on your server than it won't work.
