Why doesn't this work?

Hi there!

Sorry, I feel a bit dumb, but I really can't find the mistake! I have
the following style

#menu { position:relati ve; text-align:center;ve rtical-align:bottom;
background-color:#000000;c olor:#FFFFFF;he ight:5em;}

and in my html-file

<div id="menu">
Link1 Link2</div>

But the text isn't at the bottom of the box, so.... what's wrong here?
Thanks for any help

Cheers
Philipp

Your first mistake was to post a CSS question to an HTML group:

> #menu { position:relati ve;
> text-align:center;ve rtical-align:bottom;
> background-color:#000000;c olor:#FFFFFF;he ight:5em;}

Try asking in c.i.w.a.stylesh eets, with a sensible Subject line that
describes your problem, with a URL mentioned in the message, and after
considering this: by CSS specifications, the vertical-align property
only applies to inline elements and table cell elements.
