    HTML or not???

    Hi

sorry for possibly a crap post, but ...

I have a personal site, which is not commercial and is not profit making
    etc

I would like to create an online calendar which will detail the details of
    my life.

what I want / think is that I would have a calendar of a month (October,
e.g.) and on it would be dates of my birthday, wedding, brothers marriage
etc and I would be able to change months and years to be able to see various
    stuff.
Is this HTML that I want or is it something else?

    Pleases help

    Alex

If you want to avoid scripting and keep it simple with just HTML, you
could make a template page with a table containing 7 columns (days of
week) and 5 rows (up to 31 days). Then make 12 copies (one for each
month of the year) and insert information in the day-cells. This won't
give you separate years, but maybe you could specify events that
happened in different years in the same day-cells with another text
    color.

I was looking at having it cover lots of years, so perhaps scripts would be
the way to go, anyone suggest a good starting point?

      Cheers

Do you use any PIM software? A number of packages can export to iCal format
(or use it as the native format - including IIRC Mozilla Calendar and the
Mac OS X calendar software), and quite a bit of work is going on to
manipulate that type of data at the moment.

        http://www.w3.org/2002/12/cal/ might be of use.

Depending on what platform your servers are... you could try searching
Google for free calendar scripts for your server platform. For example, if
your servers are IIS and you can use ASP, then try searching for ASP
          calendar (or Free ASP calendar).
