    Problem suibmi

    Hi,

We have an order form on our site that is a simple HTML page that has a
FORM in it. The FORM ACTION is to run a perl script that processes the
order. For a long time, we've noticed on several machines -- XP, 98,
and 2000 -- that when we use IE 5 or IE 6 and submit the page, the
browser either returns a "page not found" error instantaneously , or the
script receives empty form variables from the HTML form. If we simply
hit the browser's Back button and then click Submit again with no
changes to the form data, it works!

This problem occurs even if we close and restart the brower between
tests and the problem is reproducible every time we try it. If we
submit the form in Netscape or Mozilla it works fine every time.

Is there something specific to IE that causes this problem and is there
something I can do about it? Because Netscape and Mozilla work, I'm led
to say it's a problem in IE, but I was wondering if anyone else had ever
    seen this problem.

    Thanks,
    -- Vinnie

There's not much help we can offer without a url.

BTW, you posted this message twice. Where will you read replies?

      The URL is: https://softwarewithbrains.com/order.htm

I hadn't posted the URL because I didn't want to generate dozens of
bogus orders from people going there to see if they received the error
or not. I was just hoping someone might have recognized this problem
      based on the description.

I know. Since I accidentally posted too soon before completing the
subject, I reposted with the complete subject filled in. I also
immediately issued a "cancel message" request against the one with the
      incomplete subject.
