    domain question

Is it possible to register a domain name like www.something.com and have
it point to someplace like www.geocities.com/something ?

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to have my own domain name and
only pay for the name but not the hosting. Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes. Google for "domain hosting" or "domain parking".

Next time, please post non-HTML questions to a more appropriate
    newsgroup.

Not really an (x)html authoring question, is it?
