Region II Best Warrior Competition tests Soldiers, NCOs at Fort Pickett - May 29-30
Army National Guard Soldiers from five states and Washington, D.C. compete at the Region II Best Warrior Competition May 29-30, 2015, at Fort Pickett, Va. The Virginia National Guard hosted this year’s competition, which included a Soldier and noncommissioned officer from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., for a total of 12 candidates. The competition spans three days and tests Soldiers and NCOs on mental and physical prowess, and includes an Army Physical Fitness Test, a six mile road march, weapons qualification, several Army Warrior Tasks and requires competitors to answer questions before a board of senior NCOs. The winning Soldier and NCO from the regional competition will advance to the national competition, representing their region against the best competitors in the nation.
