DMV 2 Go, VA Mobile Vet Center on hand to assist 1710th Soldiers with mobilization preparations – April 2, 2013

by Virginia Guard Public Affairs

Representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles were on hand April 2, 2013 in Emporia, Va., to provide assistance to the mobilizing Soldiers of the Virginia Army National Guard’s 1710th Transportation Company. The 1710th is scheduled to mobilize April 3, 2013 for eventual duty in Afghanistan. The VA’s Mobile Vet Center travels to communities to extend VA’s reach to veterans, servicemembers and their families and inform them of the many benefits and services the VA provides. DMV 2 Go, a “full-service, office on wheels,” was on hand to provide Soldiers with an opportunity to change their address, renew their tags and drivers licenses, and fill out a power of attorney for their vehicles.
