Soldier of the 429th BSB extract fuel from the closed Walter Reed Medical Center - April 11, 2013
Soldiers from the South Boston-based Company A, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team extract approximately 10,000 gallons of fuel from the old Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. April 11, 2013. The fuel will be delivered to the recently-constructed Fuel System Supply Point at Fort Pickett. Soldiers from Company A are expected to haul between 100,000 and 150,000 gallons of fuel left from the closed facility during their annual training in June. The estimated savings from the acquired fuel for Fort Pickett is approximately $500,000.
