Presentation
The Learner demonstrates an understanding of
concepts and underlying principles of Internal Drives,
External Bays, and Adapter Cards.
Discussion
Installing HDDs
An example of an internal drive is the Hard Disk Drive (HDD).
Installation Procedure:
1) Align the hard disk drive with the drive bay then, insert the hard drive
into the bay until the holes on the drive align with that of the system
case.
77
3) Connect the power supply to the hard drive.
Installation Procedure:
1) Align the optical drive to the drive bay
2) Insert the drive into the bay until holes on the drive align with that of
the system case.
79
4) Connect the power supply to the hard drive.
Installing NIC
80
A Network Interface Card (NIC) allows the computer to connect to a
network. It usually used a PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) and
PCIe expansion slots on the motherboard.
Installation Procedure
1. Align the adapter card with the suited expansion slot on the
motherboard. Gently press down until it is fully seated.
