MODULE 4: Assembling A Computer Hardware

The first thing to prepare the tools you will use is a Phillips-head (cross-shaped) Screwdriver, Needle-nose
pliers, an Anti-static Wrist Strap, and a large-level working space. There are some tools and equipment
mentioned that will come in handy.

Proceeding in INSTALLING MOTHERBOARD COMPONENT. Follow the precautions before installing the
motherboard components.

Before installing the motherboard placing it into the chassis in the correct orientation will ensure that the
motherboard will fit into it. Next is Installing a CPU, then installing a CPU heatsink and fan, and then installing
system memory.

CONFIGURING AN EXPANSION CARD: after installing the expansion card, configure it by adjusting the
software settings.

And Installing HARD DISK. Installing an internal hard disk takes a bit more work, to install an internal hard
disk, you should be comfortable opening your computer case and connecting cables.

Next Power supply installation: Make sure you choose a suitably powerful PSU.
Proceeding in CONNECTING ALL INTERNAL CABLES Power cables are used to distribute electricity from
the power supply to the motherboard and other components.

MODULE 5: Storage, Input, And Output Devices

• Input device is any piece of computer hardware that is used to send data into a computer. Keyboards,
scanners, mice, joysticks, and digital cameras are examples of input devices.

• Output device: A piece of equipment/hardware that gives out the result of the entered input, once it
is processed. Like monitors, speakers, headphones, printers.

STORAGE DEVICE: A hardware device that can be used to store digital data and applications.

• Primary Storage also known as main storage or memory, is the main area in a computer in which
data is stored for quick access by the computer's processor.

• Secondary Storage is Referred to as external memory; secondary storage is a storage medium that
holds information until it is deleted or overwritten regardless of whether the computer has power.

• CLOUD STORAGE Cloud storage is a cloud computing model that enables storing data and files
online through a cloud computing provider.

• Network-attached storage (NAS) file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more
accessible to networked devices.
