COMPETENCY-BASED CURRICULUM

A. Course Design

Course Title: COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING

Nominal Duration: 280 hours

Qualification Level: NC II

Course Description: This course is designed to develop & enhance the


knowledge, skills, & attitudes of a Computer Systems Service
Technician, in accordance with industry standards. It covers
the basic and common competencies in addition to the core
competencies such as to install and configure computers
systems, set-up computer networks and servers and to
maintain and repair computer systems and networks.

Trainee Entry
Requirements: Trainees or students should possess the following
requirements:
 Able to read and write;
 With good moral character;
 Able to communicate, both oral and written;
 Physically fit and mentally healthy as certified by a Public
Health Officer
 Can perform basic mathematical computation
 Grade 10 completer
 Must pass the trainability/aptitude test.
