Creative Commons Hong Kong was launched in 2008 to address limitations of copyright and promote creativity. It began as a collaboration between the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at HKU and CC International. Over its first year, Creative Commons Hong Kong established six copyright licenses localized for Hong Kong, engaged the community through various educational events, and saw early adoption by organizations like OpenRadio, MySinaBlog, and RTHK. The presentation provides an overview of the history and achievements of Creative Commons Hong Kong in its first year.
