The Sterlings

Samuel J Hood took a series of photographs of an American shipping family of the name Sterling. Captain Edward Robert Sterling features in these images, as do his daughters Ethel and Dorothy and his son Captain Ray Sterling. Ray Sterling's Australian wife, Ethel May Sterling also features throughout. Other images are of crew, passengers and family members on board Sterling's vessels including the barquentine E R STERLING.
