*Always show steps while solving in the paper, do
not directly write answer.
Numbers:
Natural: 1,2,3…
Whole number: 0,1,2,3….
Even numbers: 2,4,6 (divisible by 2)
Odd numbers: 3,5,7,9,11 (not divisible by 2)
Integers: ( 0, + - 1, + - 2, + - 3,……)
Mean, Median and Mode:
Mean, median, and mode, in mathematics, are the three principal ways of designating the
average value of a list of numbers. The Mean is the average of the numbers, and it is found
by adding the numbers and dividing the sum by the number of numbers in the list. The
Median is the middle value in a list ordered from smallest to largest. The Mode is the most
frequently occurring (repetitive) value on the list.
BODMAS:
Brackets, Order, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction
Brackets: There are four types of brackets: Bar Bracket ---,
1) Round Bracket
2) Curly bracket
3) Square Bracket
Order= Squares.
*APPLY BODMAS WHILE SOLVING SUMS.
FRACTION:
2/9 and 4/7. Which is greater? If asked in mcq then divide and answer. If question then
solve
2/9 x7 and 4/7 x 9 = 63 dominator, and 14 or 36 numerator. IF THE DOMINATOR IS SAME,
THEN THE GREATNESS OF THE FRACTION IS JUDGED BY NUMERATOR.
LCM AND HCF: HCF= Highest common factor
Factors- kis kis kay table mai atay hain. For instance factors of 20
would be : 1,2,4,5,10 and 20.
Formula of HCF= Product of common factors
LCM= least common multiple
Multiples - table. For instance multiples of 20=
20,40,60,80,100,120….
Formula of LCF= 1. Common factors* Uncommon factors
2. HCF* All other factors
PRIME NUMBERS= Prime numbers which are un-divisible(can not
be divided by any other number) = 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,23…… *only 2 is
even number in prime number, all other even number divisible.
FACTORS
Example: factors of 36= 1*2*2*3*3
Factors of 68= 1*2*2*17
Factors of 98= 1*2*7*7
Number common in all three will be included in hcf and lcm both, but number which is
common in 2 only, will be counted in lcm only.
When to use lcm or hcf:
Highest,maximum,tallest etc… => HCF
Smallest,minimum, least, shortest=> LCM
