PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
General Instruction:
Given the necessary tools, equipment, supplies and materials you
are required to install and configure desktop computer systems,
assemble computer hardware, install operating system and drivers for
peripherals/devices, and install application software as well as to
conduct testing and documentation. (Allotted time: 3 hours)

Specific Instruction:
1. You are required to perform the following:
a) Assemble computer hardware (30 minutes )
b) Install Operating System and device drivers (1 hour )
c) Install Application software (1 hour )
d) Conduct testing and documentation (30 minutes )
2. Given the necessary tools, equipment, supplies and materials, and
safety paraphernalia, the candidate is required to prepare the

3. The trainer will allow 20 minutes for you to familiarize yourself with
the resources to be used in this demonstration.

4. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the


Training Regulations and the Evidence Plan and shall focus on the
following evidence gathering methods below :

 Demonstration / Observation with oral questioning


 Written Test

5. Trainer may perform oral questioning of the candidate before or after


the performance of the tasks.

6. The trainer shall provide feedback of your performance at the end of


the assessment. The feedback shall indicate whether you are
competent or not yet competent.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:


1. The Trainer will:
a) provide the necessary tools, equipment, supplies and
materials you are required to instruct the trainee to perform the
following:
1. Assemble computer hardware (30 minutes)
2. Install Operating System and device drivers (1 hour)
3. Install Application software (1 hour)
4. Conduct testing and documentation (30 minutes)
b) Set-up the demonstration area.
c) Provide the candidate copy of the Instruction for the
Candidate.
d) Ensure that the candidate FULLY understands the
instruction before proceeding to the performance of the task.
e) Allow 20 minutes for the candidate to familiarize
him/her/self with the resources to be used in this demonstration.
f) Ensure that the candidate is wearing appropriate
personal protective equipment before allowing him/her to proceed
with the task.
2. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the
Training Regulations and the Evidence Plan and shall focus on the
following evidence gathering methods below :

3. During the demonstration of skills, the Assessor will check using the
Demonstration Checklist if the candidate was able to perform the
tasks specified in the Demonstration Checklist:

Operating System?
ANSWER: You have to set/changed the value of First Boot device settings on
BIOS in order to boot from your disk installer for you to start the
installation process.
2. What is the difference between Operating system and the application
software?
ANSWER: The Operating System is the most important software, without
Operating System you cannot used computer, while the application
software cannot used without Operating System.
3. What is the best practice to have good and complete settings of Computer
System?
ANSWER: You have to install the entire device driver needed for your
computer hardware so that the computer can do its best performance and to
work properly.
4. Why does it necessary to update your application and read the license
agreements every time you install it?
ANSWER: You have to update application in order to apply its new features
and read the license agreement to know the scope and limitation of
particular software.

ANSWER: To avoid damages on computer parts due to electric shock.

ANSWER: To avoid damages on your computer system due to brown
out/sudden power failure, because the system files might be corrupted due
to improper shut down.

software?
ANSWER: First, you have to determine the minimum system requirements for
the compatibility of your application software to install.
8. Why is it necessary to install the antivirus program right after installing the
operating system?
ANSWER: The Antivirus software is one of the most important software that
helps you to maintain the suitability of your computer system, and to check
the safety and security on viruses that can possibly infect your computer
during installation process.

ANSWER: You have to follow the installation procedure based on the industry
standard on how to handle computer hardware properly.

disk partition for your backup disk/logical drive using diskpart on
command prompt.

Why?
ANSWER: Scan your computer for viruses regularly, and limit the capacity
used not more that 50% of the total size of your hard drive.

software does not working?
ANSWER: Under the control panel, uninstall the application that does not
working properly and restart your computer, and then reinstall it again.

ANSWER: To inform the end user with regards to the features and
limitation and guidelines on how to use application software.

ANSWER: To ensure the good functionality and to sustain the stability of all
parts of computer system.
16. After assembling computer parts/hardware, why is it important to do a
visual inspection before turning on computer?
ANSWER: To avoid damages on your computer devices.

install Operating System (O.S.)?
ANSWER: The minimum requirements are as follows:
 RAM – Capacity of at least 1 (Gb) Giga bytes
 CPU – At least 1 (Ghz) Giga hertz of speed.
 HARD DISK – At least 80 (Gb) Giga bytes.
18. Why should observed safety practices?
ANSWER: The occupational health and safety should apply specially on a
practical work area for the safety of the user as well as to the equipment.
19. Why does the BIOS setup should be changed to/and apply the default
settings after installing Operating System?
ANSWER: Because when you restart your computer, the boot sequence find
the first boot device under the BIOS setup which is set to hard drive with
the operating system as the default settings was applied.
