UC 1: Install and Configure Computer System
BLENDED LEARNING

A. TECHNOLOGY PLAN

I. Course Design
a. Nominal Duration – 40 Hours
• No. of hours online – 30 Hours
• No. of hours offline – 10 Hours

b. Trainee Requirements
• Can communicate either oral or written
• At least a High School Graduate
• With basic knowledge in Computer Assemble & Disassemble
• Must be physically and mentally fit
• With good moral character
• Must pass the aptitude test

c. Trainer Requirements
• Must have National Certificate (NC) of Computer Systems Servicing
NCII
• Must be a holder of National TVET Trainers Certificate (NTTC) Level 1
• Acquired Certificate of Competency (COC) in Developing eLearning
Materials (DeLM) and have a certification of Facilitate eLearning
Session

d. Monitoring and Grading System


• Thru log reports, activity reports, gradebook and course completion
reports included in the Learning Management System (LMS)

e. Institutional Assessment System


• Online Quizzes & Exams
• Performance Tasks and Assignments thru Task Sheets downloadable
in the system and the students’/learners can submit their outputs thru
the specific submission bin/s
• Consolidated documents accomplished by students’/learners’ serves
as a Portfolio

f. Training Plan/Schedule
• The training shall run for 40 Hours. A more detailed breakdown of
schedules, which include learning activities deadline of submission of
outputs, and assessment, shall be indicated in the study guide which
will be uploaded to the LMS to serve as further guidance to ensure
completion of the program

II. Training Package


• A CBC for Installing and Configuring Computer System is prepared.
The eLearning material/s are packaged consisting of web scripts,
videos, quizzes, interactive elements, task sheets with performance
criteria checklist. The institutional competency assessment is
composed of online quizzes/exams on the LMS and Portfolio. The
portfolio shall be a complete package for 1 Learning Outcome. These
are all in the LMS course area for Install and Configure Computer
System competency of CSS NCII.

III. Supplies, materials, and equipment


• PC/Laptop/Mobile Devices
• LMS link and User/Student/Learner Credentials

B. INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SYSTEM

I.The Learning Management System


a. Name of LMS or eLearning platforms
• Moodle

b. Type of Connection
• Online
• LAN Based / Wireless, any type of Internet Service Provider (ISP)

c. Course Overview
• This unit covers the outcomes required in installing and configuring
desktop and workstation computers systems. It consists of
competencies to assemble computer hardware, install operating
system and drivers for peripherals/devices, and install application
software as well as to conduct testing and documentation.

d. Help Features (Technical Support System)


• Support from Trainers using Group Chats / Forums on:
o Enrollment procedures
o Guiding thru the environment of LMS

e. Enrolment System
• The institution will provide an online enrollment form thru Google
Forms a month before the opening of class to get the information of
students/learners
• Students/learners will receive a confirmation message when the
enrollment committee is done assessing the enrollees
• Trainers will distribute the user/student/learner credentials 3 weeks
before the actual opening of classes.

f. Monitoring System for Learner’s Progress


• Course Completion and Activity Reports from the LMS

g. Learner Support System


• Trainer to Peer communication
o Scheduled meetings are provided everyday thru any of the
following video conferencing platforms: Zoom, Google Meet,
Messenger Classroom, etc.
o Chats and Forums inside the LMS are also available
• Peer to Peer communication
o Chats and Forums inside the LMS
o Depend upon the leaners/students their desired platforms like:
Messenger, SMS, etc.

h. Instructional Strategies
• Offline and Online Activities
o Offline
 Trainers will provide a schedule when they need to meet
in face-to-face because of some performance task need
physically with a minimum health requirement
o Online
 Synchronous and Asynchronous way of meetings. In
LMS, each lessons, activities, and tasks have a
restriction upon students/learners’ completion

i. Learning Materials
• Description of Learning Resources

o Task Sheets, Performance Criteria Checklists and output


templates are downloadable from the eLearning materials so
that the task sheets maybe done offline

o Online quizzes/exams – self scoring computer based self-


checks and quizzes serve as practice exercises for participants.
They are made available per learning outcome.

o Sample outputs and templates for the required outputs – aside


from the templates on the eLearning materials, sample outputs
and templates maybe downloaded directly from the LMS

o Submission Bins –uploading interfaces for outputs (e.g. study


guide) are provided on the LMS. The participants shall upload
their outputs for trainer evaluation and download the comments
and suggestions of the online mentor through this interface. A
notification email is sent by the LMS both to the participant and
the online mentor in case of submission to these interfaces

o Discussion Forum is where participants can communicate with


other participants. This component of the LMS is not a live
discussion area but all enrolled participants will be able to see
all posts and replies. This component will encourage discussion
of the topics being learned

o Video Conferencing will also be done using the Zoom. Zoom will
be recorded for participants who failed to participate in the
discussions

The Computer Systems Service Workshop must be in an infrastructure


facility that is generally accepted to industry standards and practice. Based on
class size of minimum of 25 student/trainees the space requirements for the
teaching/ learning and circulation areas are as follows:
