damage from static electricity.
8. This component must be connected to ensure the system has the necessary
power to operate.
9. When assembling, this component is installed onto the motherboard to
process instructions and perform calculations.
10. This software acts as an interface between the user and the computer’s
hardware, enabling operation.
D. Discussing new
concepts and Steps in Installing and Configuring a Computer System
practicing new skills #1
1. Preparing the Tools and Workspace
(Modeling)
Before starting, ensure you have all the necessary tools and materials for a smooth
installation process.
Steps:
Gather tools such as a screwdriver, anti-static wrist strap, and
multimeter.
Organize hardware components: motherboard, CPU, RAM,
storage device, etc.
Prepare a clean, flat, and static-free workspace to avoid
damaging sensitive components.
Ensure good lighting and have reference materials ready, like
diagrams or manuals.

2. Checking Hardware Components

Inspect the components to ensure compatibility and functionality.
Steps:
Verify that the motherboard is compatible with the CPU, RAM,
and other components.
Check for physical damage like bent CPU pins or scratched
connectors.
Confirm that all components are free of dust or debris.
Test components like the power supply using a multimeter to
ensure they are operational.
3. Assembling Components and Securing Connections
Install the components into the system unit and connect them
properly.
Steps:
Mount the motherboard inside the case and secure it with
screws.
Install the CPU into the socket on the motherboard, aligning the
notches and locking it in place.
Insert the RAM into the designated slots until the clips lock
securely.
Attach the storage device (HDD/SSD) to its slot and connect the
data and power cables.
Connect the power supply cables to the motherboard, storage
device, and any additional peripherals.
Organize the cables neatly to ensure proper airflow and reduce
clutter.
4. Installing an Operating System and Essential Drivers
Set up the software needed to operate the computer system.
Steps:
Insert a bootable USB or DVD with the operating system installer.
Restart the computer and access BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing
the appropriate key (e.g., Del, F2, Esc).
Set the boot priority to the USB/DVD and save the settings.
Follow on-screen instructions to install the operating system,
selecting language, region, and installation drive.
After the OS installation is complete, install drivers for hardware
components such as the graphics card, sound card, and
motherboard.
5. Configuring System Settings
Optimize the system for user preferences and functionality.
Steps:
Set the date, time, and region settings.
Adjust display settings like resolution and orientation.
Configure power-saving options and performance modes as
needed.
Install essential software and updates to enhance system security
and functionality.
Create user accounts and set permissions or restrictions based on
requirements.
E. Discussing new Installing RAM, Connecting the Power Supply, Booting the Computer, and Installing
concepts and an Operating System
practicing new skills #2 1. Installing RAM
(Guided Practice)
Materials:
RAM module
Motherboard
Steps:
Turn off the computer and unplug it from the power source.
Open the computer case and locate the RAM slots on the motherboard.
Align the notches on the RAM module with the keys in the slot.
Firmly press the RAM module into the slot until the clips lock into place.
Verify the RAM is securely installed by checking the clips.
2. Connecting the Power Supply

Materials:
Power supply unit (PSU)
Motherboard and other components
Steps:

Install the power supply into the case and secure it with screws.
Connect the 24-pin ATX connector to the motherboard.
Attach the 4/8-pin CPU power connector to the appropriate slot on the motherboard.
Connect power cables to storage devices (HDD/SSD) and other peripherals as
needed.
Ensure all connections are secure and tidy the cables to avoid obstructions.
3. Booting the Computer

Steps:
Plug in the power cable and turn on the power supply switch.
Press the power button on the computer case.
Observe the boot sequence on the monitor and ensure the BIOS/UEFI screen
appears.
4. Installing an Operating System

Materials:
Bootable USB/DVD with an OS installer (e.g., Windows, Linux)
Keyboard and mouse
Steps:
Insert the bootable USB/DVD into the system.
Restart the computer and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Del, F2, or
Esc during boot).
Set the boot priority to the USB/DVD and save changes.
Follow on-screen prompts to install the operating system:
Select the installation drive.
Format the drive (if necessary).
Proceed with the installation process.
Once installation is complete, restart the system and complete setup configurations.
F. Developing Group Activity:
mastery Divide students into pairs.
Assign tasks to identify tools and components needed for installation.
Practice assembling parts of a computer system using diagrams or actual units.
