What is copy right?
 The simple definition of Copyright refers to the legal
right of the owner of intellectual property.
 Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country
that grants the creator of an original work exclusive
rights for its use and distribution. However, in order to
balance these exclusive rights for the public interest,
there exist exceptions and limitations to copyright, such
as fair dealing and fair use.
The importance of copy right.
 Copyright deals with these problems by providing laws to control
ownership and distribution of creative and expressive works.
Therefore, the purpose of copyright, is to create mechanisms to
control ownership and distribution of expressive works.
 While help the creator to give permission for others to use the work
in advance under certain conditions.
Copyright laws encourage protection of the creativity of original
creators. Without this protection, creators would have less incentive to
produce and sell new works.
Rules of the copy right.
 Copyright laws protect content creators, publishers, producers,
and distributors' rights to information and payment for content use.
 Copyright is a federal law. It is Title 17 of the United States Code.
Copyright is the right of authors to control the use of their work for a
limited period of time. A copyrighted work must be an original work
of authorship which is fixed in a tangible medium of expression.
 The copyright holder, as the legal owner of the rights
associated with copyright can therefore give advance
permissions regarding use of the work. This is enabled through
the transfer of rights by applying a copyright license.
What is a creative common?
 Creative Commons (CC) is an internationally
active non-profit organization that provides
free licenses for creators to use when making
their work available to the public.

Rules of creative common.
 Creative Commons is a system that allows you to legally use “some
rights reserved” music, movies, images, and other content — all for
free. Creative Common offers free copyright licenses that anyone can
use to mark their creative work with the freedoms they want it to
carry.
 Creative common licenses allow their holders to grant broad
permission to others to share, remix, use commercially, or
otherwise use their work without having to ask specific
authorization for each use.
Importance of Creative Common.
The CC licenses make it easier for
people to disseminate their works and
share and build upon the work of
others consistent with the rules of
copyright. Thus, the more works are
published through CC licenses, the
more works are available for OERs
purposes.
Creative common also enables
creators to share creative works
legally by providing a number of
copyright licenses and tools that
creators may use to grant the
public specific permissions on how
to use their works.
Summary.
 Copy right is a legal right created by the law of a country that
grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and
distribution. And is a non profit organization work and its laws
protect content creators, publishers and producers.
 Creative common is a tools give everyone from individual creators
