Lesson Plan for TLE 7/8 – Exploratory

Computer Systems Servicing


Quarter 1, Week 1-Day 1

I. Content Standards: The learners demonstrate understanding of the use of hand tools and
equipment for Computer Systems Servicing
Performance Standards: The learner shall be able to use hand tools and equipment for
Computer Systems Servicing
Learning Competency: Plan and Prepare for Task to be undertaken. TLE_IACSS9-12UHT-IIIa-17

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify the tools used in Computer Systems Servicing
2. Appreciate the function of each tool
3. Connect the tools and its uses

II. Topic: Use of Hand Tools and Equipment for Computer Systems Servicing
Subject Area: TLE 7 – Computer Systems Servicing (Exploratory)
Materials:
TV, laptop, Posters, Strips, Cartolina, Pentel Pen and Actual Tools
III. Procedures:

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTYIVITY

Preliminaries:
 Call a student to lead the prayer (Prayer)
 Greet the students and ask their feelings
 Check the attendance
 Establish classroom rules

Motivation

Let the students arrange the jumbled letters and form


it into words (Answer: HAND TOOLS)

If you hear the words Hand Tools, what comes first in


your mind? (Students answers may vary)

Lesson Proper:

A. Explore

Activity 1 (Fan and Pick Activity)

Direction: Group the students into five and let them


choose one (1) representative to pick a question for
them to answer by group. Each group will be given ¼
sheet of Manila Paper and a Pentel Pen. The teacher
will fan the strips in front of the student. Give them
three (3) minutes to do the activity. When the time
ends, let them post their answers by group.

Strip 1-
1. It protects and equalizes electric charge
between you and the computer equipment
when grounded to a computer chassis.
2. A mat that protects computer equipment by
preventing static electricity from accumulating
on the hardware or on the technician.
Strip 2-
1. A screwdriver that is used to tighten or loosen
slotted screws.
2. It is used to tighten or loosen screws that have
a star-like depression on the top, a feature that
is mainly found on laptops.
Strip 3-
1. It is used to strip or cut wires.
2. It is used to manipulate small parts.
Strip 4-
1. A tool used to light up areas that you cannot
see.
2. It is used to attach connectors to wires.
Strip 5-
1. It is used to terminate wire into termination
blocks.
2. It is used to remove the insulation from wire so
that it can be twisted to other wires or crimped
to connectors to make a cable.

B. FIRM UP

ACTIVITY 2- STATION ACTIVITY

Direction: Post 5 stations in different corners of the


room. With the same group of students, let them
research in each station. Instruct the students to
bring notebook and ballpen for them to write some
important information in each station. Group 1 will
start in Station 1, Group 2 in Station 2, Group 3 in
Station, Group 4 in Station 4 and Group 5 in Station
5. Give 2 minutes to research in each station. Remind
each group to move when they will be told to do so.
STATION 1

ELECTRO STATIC DISCHARGE TOOLS

1. Antistatic Wrist Strap - protects and


equalizes electrical charge between you
and computer equipment when
grounded to a computer chassis.

2. Antistatic Mat - protects computer


equipment by preventing static
electricity from accumulating on the
hardware or on the technician.
STATION 2

HAND TOOLS

1. Torx Screwdriver - used to loosen or


tighten screws that have a star-like
depression on the top, a feature that is
mainly found on laptop.

2. Needle-Nose Plier - used to cut and bend


small wires and electrical wiring.

3. Wire Cutter - commonly used to cut


copper, brass, iron, aluminum and steel.

4. Philips Head Screwdriver- used to loosen


or tighten X slotted screws.

5. Tweezers - usually used to hold and


manipulate small parts.

6. Flat Head Screwdriver - is used to tighten


or loosen screws that have a straight,
linear notch in their heads.
