INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT

Institutional assessment is undertaken by trainees


to determine their achievement of units of
competency. A certificate of achievement is
issued for each unit of competency.
NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND
CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS
To attain the National Qualification of Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, the
candidate must demonstrate competence in all units listed in Section 1.
Successful candidates shall be awarded a National Certificate signed by the
TESDA Director General.
The qualification of Computer Hardware Servicing NC II may be attained
through demonstration of competence through a single comprehensive
project-type assessment covering all required units of competency of the
qualification.
Assessment shall focus on the core units of competency. The basic and
common units shall be integrated or assessed concurrently with the core
units.
The following are qualified to apply for assessment and certification:
 Graduate of formal, non-formal, and informal including enterprise-based training programs.
 Experienced workers (wage employed or self employed)

The guidelines on assessment and certification are discussed in detail in the


Procedures Manual on Assessment and Certification and Guidelines on the
Implementation of the Philippine TVET Qualification and Certification
System (PTQCS).
CSS NC II
INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT

 Institutional assessment is undertaken by


trainees to determine their achievement of units
of competency. A certificate of achievement is
issued for each unit of competency.

 As a matter of policy, graduates of programs


registered with TESDA under these training
regulations are required to undergo mandatory
national competency assessment upon completion
of the program.
NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND
CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS
To attain the National Qualification of Computer Systems Servicing NC II,
the candidate must demonstrate competence in all units listed. Successful
candidates shall be awarded a National Certificate signed by the TESDA
Director General.

The qualification of Computer Systems Servicing NC II may be attained through:


Accumulation of Certificates of Competency (COCs) in all the following units of
competencies:

1. Install and configure computer systems


2. Set-up computer networks
3. Set-up computer servers
4. Maintain and Repair Computer Systems and Networks

Successful candidates shall be awarded a Certificate of Competency (COC) in


each of the core units.

Upon accumulation and submission of all COCs acquired for the relevant units of
competency comprising a qualification, an individual shall be issued the
corresponding National Certificate.
For individuals, who already possess National Certificate
(NC) or Certificate of Competency (COC) along Computer
Hardware Servicing NC II

 Portfolio assessment is applicable for COC #1, COC #2


and COC #4, provided the candidate is already employed
and has related experience for the past three (3) years or
more along the qualification.

However, if the assessor finds the evidences presented


inadequate, he may still require the candidate to
undergo the practical demonstration or present other
evidences in the form of Demonstration, Third Party
Report, etc. depending on the need for supplementary
evidences.

 Candidates are required to take assessment for COC #3 –


“Set-up computer servers”.
