The installation of Application software is as important as the installation of any


other software because this helps you perform a well-maintained function, task or
activity for the benefit of a user. However, keeping your application outdated may
affect the performance of your computer application. Every application software needs
to be updated to be able to maximize its use and functionality.

Software updates offer plenty of benefits such as repairing security holes that


have been discovered and fixing or removing computer bugs. Software updates can
also mean adding new features to your devices and remove outdated ones. See the
attached Learner’s Reference.

TOPIC: ACCESS AND INSTALL SOFTWARE UPDATES

Application Software is a software that performs specific tasks for an end-user. One of the
most useful application is a Productivity Application such as Microsoft Office which helps
simplify basic office tasks and improve work productivity.

Microsoft Office also knows an MS Office or simply Office, is a family of client software,
server software, and services developed by Microsoft. Some of the most common MS Office
Apps includes MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.

Software Update is a package used to upgrade software to a new version. These are a way
for software developers to fine-tune a product to make it the best it can be. They only offer
small, frequent improvements rather than major changes.

1. Open any Office 2013 application, such as Word and
create a new document.
