COC1. INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER SYSTEMS

1. What do you call the computer software which you configure before installing the
Operating System?

Answer:  BIOS

2. What may be the problem and what should be done if the display does not match
what you expect to view on the monitor?

Answer:  The video driver is not installed, install the video driver
 The display resolution is not properly set, adjust the display
resolution

3. What will you do if a customer wants to install an OS in his PC but does not have
an optical drive?
Answer:  Create a bootable USB installer

4. What maybe the problem if the computer does not recognize a bootable flash drive?
What will you do to resolve this?
Answer:  The BIOS is not properly configured to boot the flash drive. Configure
the BIOS to boot the flash drive
 The USB flash drive is defected. Replace the bootable USB flash drive
 The USB port is not functioning. Connect the USB flash drive to other
USB port

5. What should you configure in the BIOS when you are going to install an OS using a
USB flash drive?
Answer:  Boot Sequence.

COC2. SET-UP COMPUTER NETWORKS

1. What type of network would you suggest to your client who wants to
network more than 100 computers?

Answer:  Client-Server type of network

2. What type of network would you recommend if your client has only few
computer units?

Answer:  Peer to Peer network

3. What would you do if you suspect that the cause of the problem in the
network is the cable?

Answer:  Use a LAN tester and check the cable

4. After replacing a good cable, still the computers cannot connect to each
other, what is the possible cause if the network is using static IP address?

Answer:  Using static IP address can duplicate the IP address assign

1. What should you do if you want to transfer file or files into another
computer? How do you share a folder named TESDA in Drive C?

Answer:  Create a folder named TESDA in Drive C and share the folder

2. What do you call a bootable disk that contains a full usable OS?

Answer:  Bootable USB installer

3. You setup a network where each computer and in which each user shares
other resources, including printer. What do you call this setup?

Answer:  Peer to peer network

4. What are you going to do to access a server located far from the client

COC4. MAINTAIN AND REPAIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND NETWORKS

1. What may be the cause why the computer displays a black screen and
produces no beeps when power is turned on? What should you do to
correct the situation?
Answer:  RAM issue. Turn off the computer and try to reconnect or use the
other RAM slot

2. If RAM is not the cause, what maybe another cause and what should you
do to solve the problem?

Answer:  If RAM is not the cause, the other suspect is the motherboard, try to
disassemble the system unit and reconnect

3. How would you avoid overheating of devices such as CPU, or any other
devices that produces more heat?

Answer:  Provide the computer with proper ventilation


 Clean or remove the dust from the device

4. After transferring the computer unit, the monitor has no more display but
the power indicator is on. What are the steps that you must do? Name two
causes of the problem.
Answer:  Cable, Power supply on the motherboard, graphics card
 Check the cable, check the power supply, check the graphics card

5. What are the possible causes if the printer is not responding?

Answer:  The printer cable is defected or not connected


 Printer driver is not installed correctly
 The printer is turn-off
